Eight Years Skating for a Cause That Makes a Real Difference.
For the eighth year, I'm lacing up my skates and participating in the 2026 CAN Pro-Am Hockey Tournament in support of the Canucks Autism Network (CAN).
What started as an opportunity to play hockey alongside NHL alumni, the BC hockey community and as part of the Rogers Sportsnet team has become something much more special. Year after year, I've had the privilege of helping raise funds that support children, youth, adults, and families living with autism across British Columbia. CAN delivers programs that help individuals build confidence, develop life skills, participate in sports and recreation, access employment opportunities, strengthen connections within their communities and so much more.
Over the past eight years, thanks to the incredible generosity of friends, family, colleagues, clients, and community supporters, we've raised thousands of dollars together. Every donation, whether large or small, has helped ensure more individuals on the autism spectrum can access life-changing programs and experiences.
One of the things that makes the CAN Pro-Am so special is that it brings together people from all walks of life around a shared purpose. Hockey is the backdrop, but the real focus is fundraising and creating opportunities for autistic individuals and their families.Â
This year's tournament takes place October 16 to 18 and will once again bring together hundreds of recreational players, business leaders, hockey fans, and NHL alumni for an unforgettable weekend. The more funds teams raise, the greater their opportunity to draft NHL alumni players, creating a fun and competitive fundraising environment that directly benefits the cause.
While I enjoy the chance to get back on the ice, the real reason I return every year is simple: the impact. Hearing stories of individuals gaining confidence through sport, building friendships, finding employment opportunities, and being fully included in their communities is a powerful reminder of why this matters.
If you're able to support my fundraising efforts this year, I would be incredibly grateful. Your donation will help CAN continue delivering programs and services that create opportunities, foster inclusion, and support individuals on the autism spectrum throughout British Columbia.
Thank you for supporting this cause over the years. Whether you've donated, shared a fundraising post, participated in an event, or simply cheered from the sidelines, you've helped make a difference.
Here's to Year 8. Let's see how much we can raise together.
Thank you for your support.
